Applying to Willamette
Willamette University welcomes the diversity and richness that international students contribute to the campus and encourages applications from well-qualified citizens of other countries. Scholarship support from the University for international students is limited, so international students are strongly advised to realistically assess the personal and family resources available to them prior to initiating an application for admission. International applicants should file either the Application for First-Year Students or the Transfer Application, including the International Student Supplement page. [ apply online ]
The Office of International Education at Willamette serves both entering international students and scholars, as well as currently enrolled Willamette students who are planning to study abroad as part of their educational experience.
Visit the Office of International Education.
Please read these instructions carefully before completing your application.
As a selective institution, Willamette University does not operate on a rolling admission basis. We review all applications as a group, selecting those students who show the greatest likelihood of benefiting from and contributing to the academic and extracurricular opportunities of our campus community. Admission decisions for international applicants are mailed by April 1 for entry in the Fall semester and by December 1 for entry in the Spring semester.
Complete and return the Common Application. There is no fee if you submit the application electronically. If you submit the paper form, the application fee is $50.00. The submission/postmark deadlines are February 1 for Fall Semester (beginning late August) and October 1 for Spring Semester (beginning mid-January). Be certain to complete the International Supplement section of the application form, as well.

Important Scholarship Information for International applicants
Scholarship funds for international applicants are extremely limited.
International applicants for admission must therefore be prepared to pay
for all or nearly all of their educational expenses. Review of financial
resources is part of the admission decision for all international applicants
and no admission decision will be made without complete financial documentation.
The international scholarships awarded by Willamette are merit-based,
recognizing applicants’ combined excellence in academic, extracurricular
and leadership activities.
