Adherence to the following procedures and regulations creates an enjoyable and safe experience for all.

Attendance
To receive credit, each student must participate in at least four of the five scheduled trips to Mt. Hood Meadows and complete a minimum of four lessons of instruction by Mt. Hood ski instructors. Students are encouraged to attend every scheduled lesson. It is also important to make sure to obtain the proper signature on the ski lesson attendance card after each lesson for grading.

March 1st is the fifth and final trip to Mt. Hood Meadows for the 2008 WU Ski Class. If, after March 1st, you have not fulfilled the obligatory four lessons necessary for course credit, you will need to attend the official make-up day on Saturday, March 8th. Transportation is on your own for the make-up day.

Your Ski Package (purchased from MHM) will include 5 lessons. You have the option of including 5 equipment rentals and/or 5 lift tickets. After you have fulfilled the course credit requirements, you have one “punch” remaining on your hang tag. You may present your hang tag with the remaining “punch” to the Mt. Hood Meadows ticket booth on any day of the 2008 Winter season and exchange it for a lesson, lift ticket, or rental.

Grading
Grading is based on attendance, performance, and class participation. You will receive a lesson attendance card along with your Ski Package. You are required to obtain a signature from your instructor for each lesson attended. Students are responsible for turning in the attendance card to the Ski Class advisor, Julianne Abendroth-Smith, no later than March 10th. Students who fail to turn in the card by the deadline may not receive credit for the class.

Lab Skiing Requirement
You are responsible for 20 hours of lab skiing during the 5-week ski session, before and/or after each lesson. You must either have your own lift pass, or include one in your Ski Package (purchased from MHM).

Conduct
Each student is required to abide by the Willamette University student conduct rules.

Class Postponement
If staff at Mt. Hood Meadows postpone the class due to weather conditions, a make-up day will be announced, or an indoor class may be held and lab skiing will be made up at another time. The university may also postpone a class.
