Box Office and Ticket Information

Willamette University Theatre produces four mainstage plays, one dance concert, and various student projects each season. These are open not only to University students, but also to the public, and we encourage members of the community to attend. Each mainstage production runs for two weekends, with a preview, five evening shows, two matinees, and a special morning performance for visiting high schools. We have two mainstage theatres in the Playhouse: the Kresge, with roughly 230 seats, and the Arena, with modular seating that varies by production. Both are wheelchair accessible. Food and drink are not allowed in the theatres; we request that all pagers, cellular phones, and other electronic devices be turned off during performances.

Assisted listening devices are available at the box office. Our box office staff will be happy to provide you with one.

All of our mainstage productions run for two consecutive weekends. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 8pm, and Sunday at 2pm. These productions have a special student matinee performed at 11am on the second Thursday as well. The Spring Dance Concert runs for one weekend at these same times (no student matinee).

*There is a reception following the performance on opening night. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres will be served.
** A senior ticket can be purchased by those individuals who have reached 55 years of age.

Finding the Theatre

Willamette University's address is 900 State Street, Salem, OR 97301. Our campus is directly across the street from the capitol building. The easiest way to access the theatre is to park in the Matthews Parking Lot. This is located on 12th street (which borders the east edge of campus). From the parking lot, simply walk up the road around the corner behind Matthews, and you will get to the Play House (easily recognized by our blue awning). Our building is marked in red on this map, the parking lot is just southeast of the building.
