Bruce has been a working director since the early 1990’s. He has directed opera, musical, and non-musical theatre from New York to Santa Cruz California. Throughout that time, Bruce has worked as producing director of the Carnegie Mellon Summer New Plays Project, assistant producer of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and faculty at Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama. Bruce holds an MFA in Directing from Carnegie Mellon School of Drama.
